May 21, 2009, Thursday. I had another celebration with the Plaza clan in Baclayon, Bohol. The Mass was at the famous Baclayon Church at 9:00 am and Reception at the Metro Center in Tagbilaran City. My relatives prepared a beautiful program during the reception.

Here is the script used during the program on my celebrations in Gensan and Bohol, with some pictures of the salient happenings of my vacation.

N1: Fr. Pol is one of the fruits of the “Love Story” of Alejandrino Plaza, Sr. or “Ninong” and Carpofora Alarba or Puring”, both from Baclayon, Bohol. Ninong was a son of Miguel Plaza and Juliana Luza and “Puring” was a daughter of Matias Alarba and Carmen Ayaay, all from Baclayon, Bohol. Ninong worked as court stenographer in Tagbilaran City. Puring, worked as Public school teacher in many schools in Bohol. Both are now dead.

N2: God gifted Ninong and Puring with 15 children, ten girls and 5 boys, which they called “Blessings”. They were; a) Flordeliza, b) Praxedes, c) Prisciliana, d)Vileado, e)Zaida, f) Minda, g)Ma. Socorroi, h) Alejandrino Jr. i) Corazon, j)Jesusa, k) Apolinario, l)Paz Maura, m)Segundina, n) Nazario and o)Jovito. Among the Plaza siblings three became priests(Alejandrino Jr, Apolinario and Nazario) and one (Jesusa)became a religious sister. Three are already dead; Jovito in 1986, Praxedes in 2006, and Alejandrino in 2007.

(The remaining Plaza siblings; Flor, Jing, Suki, Fr. Pol, Minda, Fr. Nonoy, Zaida, Dina, Sr. Crisanta, Nen, and Azon. Dodong could not attend the reception for health reasons.)


N1: Fr. Pol studied Grade 1 at the age of seven under Mrs. Genoveva Revil at Baclayon Central Elementary Schools. At Grade 2, he was under Mrs. Vivencia Alagon. At Grade three, he studied at Oroquieta Central Elementary School at Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental, Mindanao, under Mrs. Calugcog. He was living then with his sister Flor who was married to Reynaldo Tancinco. He returned to Baclayon after a year and studied Grade 4 under Mrs. Neria Quioco. At Grade 5, he was under Mrs. Segundina Sambalud and at grade 6, under Mrs. Purification Alas. He finished Elementary as a Valedictorian.

N2: Fr. Pol had his High School at Immaculata High School, a newly founded diocesan school in their hometown in Baclayon at that time. Being new, they were only thirteen in the first year class. However, the enrollment increased at the succeeding years. Fr. Pol was a scholar all throughout High School, graduating as Class Valedictorian.
